  • What could be the problem with my central heating?

    May 29, 2010 by

We have just switched our central heating on for the first time this winter and none of the radiators in the house are working, upstairs or down.

We have gas central heating, but not one of those boilers which fires when you need water (not sure what it is called).

Also, none of the radiators have points to bleed them at. They have a temperature control at one end and a random one at the other which doesn’t seem to do anything.

    Help?
Edit : Some radiators have bleed points. Some don’t.
Just clarifying that when I say first time, I mean first time since last winter.

By the way you don,t have a Central heating. Central heating blow air through the went not through radiator. Make shore heater is on and check pilot lamp if that two work see hot water pipe is getting hot. The best way is call a pro it hard to explain all.

If the radiators do not have bleeds, find the highest point in the water loop. Most likely you will find a bleed there. Bleed the air out. Also, you can purchase an automatic bleeder valve that can be routed outside to dump any water that escapes during the bleed process. Consider the circulation pump. Is it running. If so, is it cavitating? Cavitation usually occurs if the water level is low or if there is a leak on the suction side that would allow air into the system. Good Luck!
